US, Ukraine Sign Bilateral Security Agreement To Deter Potential Attacks

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken visits Ukraine

US President Joe Biden addressed reporters after signing a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine on Thursday. The agreement was signed during a joint news conference on the sidelines of the G7 summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the news conference, Biden emphasized the importance of the security agreements signed by the US and other countries to enable Ukraine to defend itself and deter potential attacks in the future. Biden made it clear that the US will support Ukraine by providing weapons, ammunition, expanding intelligence-sharing, and training Ukrainian troops, among other efforts.

Biden reiterated that the United States is committed to helping Ukraine strengthen its defense capabilities without deploying American troops to fight in Ukraine. Instead, the focus will be on supporting Ukraine through various means to enhance its ability to protect itself.

The bilateral security agreement signed between the US and Ukraine marks a significant step in bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities and ensuring its security in the face of potential threats. The agreement reflects the ongoing commitment of the US and its allies to support Ukraine in its efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
