US troops kill Iraq journalist's son

The son of a journalist at a popular weekly newspaper in northern Iraq is said to have been shot dead by US troops at a checkpoint in Kirkuk. Police claim that American soldiers opened fire on Arkan Ali al-Nuaimi, the 19-year-old son of Ali Taha al-Nuaimi, editor of the US-financed The Voice of the Villages, when his car appeared to veer wildly.
