The United States recorded the highest number of reported attacks on Indians living abroad over the past five years, according to data presented by the government in Parliament.
As many as 33 attacks on Indian nationals were reported in the US between 2021 and 2025, followed closely by the United Arab Emirates, which recorded 32 cases during the period.

The United Kingdom and Canada reported 31 and 30 attacks, respectively, while Ireland recorded 24 cases of violence against Indians.
The figures come amid growing concerns over attacks and incidents of violence targeting Indians in several countries, including Ireland, where a series of racist attacks against Indian nationals has been reported in recent months.
Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said the safety and security of Indians abroad remained the government's foremost priority.

"Indian Missions/Posts remain vigilant and closely monitor any untoward incidents affecting Indian nationals abroad. Such incidents are immediately taken up with the authorities concerned of the host country to ensure that the cases are properly investigated and the perpetrators are punished as per their domestic laws," he said in a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
The government said Indian missions and posts abroad remain in close contact with authorities in host countries when incidents involving Indian nationals are reported.
