
White House sources revealed that US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner will head Washington’s delegation to Riyadh’s Future Investment Initiative (FII), a financial forum.
The US delegation will include senior officials such as Energy Secretary Rick Perry, US special envoy for Iran Brian Hook, and Kushner's assistant and senior adviser Avi Berkowitz.
White House sources said the administration was keen on boosting investment in the region.
Other than the official US delegation, World Bank Group President David Malpass, a large number of investors from the New York Stock Exchange and senior executives from the US financial sector will participate in the conference which will be held on October 29-31.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and other regional leaders are expected to attend.
Major US firms are also planning to participate in the conference, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup.
It was reported that the number of CEOs confirmed for participation in the forum was approximately 150.
