US Soccer rocked as sporting director resigns ahead of World Cup

Soccer Matt Crocker World Cup

Matt Crocker has abruptly resigned as sporting director of the US Soccer Federation.
His departure comes just two months before the United States co-hosts the World Cup.
Crocker is reportedly moving to Saudi Arabia to take up a new international football opportunity.
Dan Helfrich, the federation's chief operating officer, will now provide executive oversight for sporting operations.
During his tenure, Crocker oversaw significant coaching appointments, including Gregg Berhalter and Mauricio Pochettino for the men's team, and recommended Emma Hayes for the women's team.
