Jon Ossoff has thrust one of Donald Trump's most mysterious aides into the political spotlight after naming Natalie Harp during a fiery campaign speech, prompting renewed attention on the unusually close bond between the president and his so-called 'human printer'.
Ossoff's remarks came while he was attacking Trump over his handling of military deployments, presidential priorities and the lavish lifestyle surrounding his administration.
Yet one brief reference to Harp was enough to reignite a long-running rumour that has circulated around the White House, despite there being no definitive evidence that the pair are romantically involved.
Ossoff Names Trump's Constant Companion
During the speech, Ossoff praised sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln for continuing to serve despite an exceptionally lengthy deployment before turning his fire on the president.
He accused Trump of being more interested in golf, stock trading, a proposed ballroom and luxury travel than the responsibilities of the presidency. Then came the reference that immediately changed the tone of the speech.
Ossoff said Trump had time to 'build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar'.
The remark referred to Harp, a Trump aide who has become a familiar figure beside the president. Her job title is executive assistant, but her unusually constant presence has made her considerably more recognisable than most people in similar White House roles.
Her role has also earned her the nickname 'human printer' because she reportedly follows Trump with a portable printer, allowing him to receive physical copies of documents rather than relying on screens.
Why Natalie Harp Has Become So Closely Watched
Harp has reportedly been in Trump's orbit since 2022 and has developed a reputation for being exceptionally loyal to the president.
The podcast discussing Ossoff's remarks cited claims from the book Regime Change, including an alleged note from Harp to Trump which read, 'you are all that matters to me'.
Trump has also reportedly spoken about Harp's loyalty, saying, 'All of you will go off and make money. She'll never leave me'.
Those comments have fuelled speculation about the nature of their relationship, particularly because Harp is frequently seen accompanying Trump.
However, the allegations remain just that: speculation. The podcast itself acknowledged that there is no definitive proof of an affair. It also referenced a previous fact check by Snopes, which found that claims about a romantic relationship were based largely on anonymous sourcing and speculation rather than hard evidence.
Harp's estranged brother has reportedly rejected the idea that the relationship is romantic, instead describing what he sees as an intense attachment to Trump in a father figure sense.
Ossoff's Attack Was Bigger Than the Rumour
The Georgia senator was using her presence as part of a wider argument about Trump's priorities. His criticism focused on the contrast between service members enduring months at sea and a president who, in Ossoff's telling, has plenty of time for personal pursuits and expensive projects.
The podcast commentary made a similar point, arguing that the Harp reference was ultimately about what Trump chooses to prioritise while American service members remain deployed.
That framing matters because simply presenting the rumour as established fact would go far beyond what has been publicly demonstrated.
Instead, Ossoff's comments have placed an already heavily scrutinised aide back in the spotlight while giving political opponents fresh material to question Trump's judgement and priorities.
