'Is this Nessie?' Batcherlorette star on Inverness dinner date is seriously confused about haggis

A contestant on a US dating show asked if she was 'eating the Loch Ness monster ' when she was served a plate of haggis in Inverness.

The Bachelorette contestants Hannah Brown and Mike Johnson were enjoying a Scottish date in Inverness as part of the American TV show.

The spin-off dating show from The Bachelor sees one woman go on a string of dates with potential suitors.

The pair wandered around the town in Inverness, sampling local sweeties and Scottish whisky before they headed into a pub.

The couple were served a plate of Haggis (The Bachelorette)

A man interrupts their date to ask if the pair have tried haggis, describing it as a local Scottish food.

When they are served their plate of haggis, Hannah asks: "Is this the Loch Ness Monster?" before sampling the dish.

The local man replies: "Yes, it's part of the Loch Ness Monster."

After declaring their love for haggis, the couple are left horrified when they are told what haggis really is.

The man gleefully declares: "I don't eat this, I'm English" as they struggle to clear their plates.

The show airs on ABC.
