Jay Z and Beyoncé could be making a collaborative album together, if statements by DJ Skee are to be believed. The US DJ revealed the news on his recently launched Dash Radio show on Tuesday.
“The biggest couple in music, maybe entertainment, maybe the world … they’re working on an album together,” he said. “You know who I’m talking about, Jay Z and Beyoncé. I have confirmed and talked with a couple sources. Now we all know what Jay Z did with Samsung last year. We all know how Beyoncé came out of nowhere. But this secret would top all of them, even that new U2 album.”
Various sources have speculated that the couple’s album could be out as soon as late 2014 or early 2015. However, a representative for Beyoncé had no comment.
Although it would be a significant release in the music world, news of a joint album would come as no surprise to fans: Jay Z and Beyoncé have collaborated on one another’s tracks on numerous occasions, such as Crazy in Love, Bonnie and Clyde, Déjà Vu, Upgrade U and Drunk in Love.
The music world’s most powerful couple has taken their On the Run shows to cities across the world, countering divorce rumours and sparking pregnancy rumours in the process. Their final two performances in Paris were filmed as a part of an HBO concert special scheduled to premiere on 20 September, with the first of a three-part trailer for the special called Bang Bang, Part One, unveiled earlier this week.
