US President Joe Biden jets off from Edinburgh Airport on Air Force One after COP26 visit

The President of the United States has jetted out of Edinburgh Airport marking the end of his visit to Scotland.

Joe Biden boarded the presidential plane Air Force One on Tuesday night and was airborne at around 10.20pm.

The American leader arrived in Scotland on November 1 and attended for days at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

His impressive motorcade caused quite a stir amongst Scots who witnessed the convoy travelling between the two cities on the M8.

He stayed at the Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club on the outskirts of the capital where additional security measures - including snipers - were put in place.

The leader’s visit was made more notable after he was reportedly flashed by a “large, naked Scottish man” as he travelled to the second day of the COP26 conference.

The president and his staff were apparently photographed by the unnamed nude man, who stood in the front window of a house as the convoy passed.

The White House reporters’ pool said: “At one point when we were still on smaller country roads, a large, naked Scottish man stood at his front window taking a picture of the motorcade with his phone.”
