US PGA Championship preview tips Gary Woodland, Tommy Fleetwood & 150/1 Jason Kokrak

We haven't had a major since Shane Lowry won the 2019 Open - and the first of the three we can enjoy in the rest of this year looks wide open.

But our golf columnist Chris Uren is refreshed and raring to go again post-lockdown, after delivering a 14/1 winner in Phoenix (Webb Simpson), a 50/1 winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational (Tyrrell Hatton) and was one stroke away from delivering a 28/1 winner in Mexico (each/way backers of Bryson DeChambeau still made a profit).

So who is he backing for the 2020 US PGA Championship?

The 7,234 yard Harding Park is a bombers' track and length is likely to be a big factor again.

A public course positioned a mile away from the Pacific Ocean, the back-nine loops around the front nine and is more exposed to the wind.

Established young tour pros have won the last ten PGA tour Championships - bombers have won the last six.

So we're focusing on three young men who fit the bill on both scores.

Chris says: "Gary Woodland has knocked on the door a couple of times this season and should go well at a course to suit at 40/1 .

"Tommy Fleetwood blew the cobwebs off his game last week at the St Jude event. Long off the tee, Tommy should also be in contention at 40/1 .

"But a player who may surprise is Jason Kokrak.

"The PGA has had a history of shock winners, think Yang Yong-eun , Shaun Micheel and TV’s Rich Beem. So at 150/1, Kokrak could well be that guy this week."
