The largest purse in tennis has become even more lucrative after US Open bosses rose the prize pool by seven percent to a total of $57.24million (£46.55m).
This is the most money up for grabs in the competition’s 138 year history.
Juts like last year’s competition, which saw Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka win their respective singles competitions, the prize money up for grabs is the same for men and women.
But a raft of big names will not be competing for the top prizes, as the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic did not make it that far.
