US Open betting tips: Gary Murphy's expert picks for Pebble Beach

It is less than a month since Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship but attention now turns to Pebble Beach for the US Open.

Koepka is bidding for a third successive win in the tournament and his fifth major in just nine starts.

The American is rightly been made one of favourites by the bookmakers but he is being challenged by Rory McIlroy who blitzed the field to win the Canadian Open last weekend.

McIlroy is looking to end a five-year major drought and what better place to do it than at one of golf's most historic venues.

It was at Pebble Beach where Tiger Woods won the 2000 US Open by a record-setting fifteen strokes.

And Woods is being tipped by many to be in the hunt come Sunday after his sensational win at this year's Masters.

Where should you put your money though? Well, our golf expert and former European Tour Gary Murphy has given Irish Mirror readers his best selections for this week.

Betting Slip

Rory McIlroy 9/1

Should stay on it from Canada.

Jon Rahm 28/1

Potential to bully it if he stays calm.

Paul Casey 50/1

He has the ball striking if he can find that extra edge.

Kevin Na 80/1

Recent winner loves a battle and that will be this week.

Emilliano Grillo 125/1

First time here might keep him fresh.

Collin Morikawa 500/1

Rookie who impressed in Canada. You never know.
