US Open 2026: Wyndham Clark Extends Lead In Style As Scottie Scheffler Chases

Moving Day at Shinnecock Hills lived up to its name, with the leaderboard changing minute by minute. But, one thing remained firmly in place, and that's Wyndham Clark's position at the top of the board.

He took a four-stroke lead into the final day three at Shinnecock Hills, and he comes out of it with a six-stroke lead after a masterful display on the greens. Clark may have recorded a handful of bogeys, but he also sank a couple of birdies and even scored a sublime eagle on 16. That, combined with some crucial par saves have Clark looking likely to land a second US Open title.

History is very much on Clark's side, too. As per the Elias Sports Bureau, we have seen 21 players leading by six strokes or more with 18 holes to go in a Major championship, and 20 of them have gone on to win the event - only Greg Norman in 1996 failed to do so, when he collapsed spectacularly to allow Nick Faldo to triumph at The Masters.

Even if this were a five+ stroke lead, there have still been 33 winners out of 39 players holding that advantage heading into a final round in a Major. The last man to let such a lead slip was Jean van de Velde at the 1999 Open Championship at Carnoustie. The Frenchman went on to lose a three-way playoff that year.

While the likes of Sam Stevens, Tom Kim, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Collin Morikawa all shot over-par today to lose ground on Clark, we did see some players moving in the right direction.

Scottie Scheffler looks the most dangerous of them right now, having scored 69 on day three and hitting some stunning shots to join the final pairing with Clark. With a Career Grand Slam in his sights, and on his birthday no less, we simply cannot rule the world no. 1 out just yet.

HELLO AND WELCOME

Welcome to Golf Monthly's coverage of the third round of the 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills.

Conditions are definitely tougher today so it's set to be a very intriguing afternoon of golf.

EMILIANO GRILLO GOING LOW

Not many players are under-par today, which makes Emiliano Grillo's start even more impressive.

The Argentine is three-under-par for his opening ten holes after making four consecutive birdies from 6-9.

MCILROY HAS ARRIVED

The World No.2 and 2011 US Open champion is looking cool and calm as he arrives on-site.

He's seven back of Clark's lead so needs to make up some ground today.

I wouldn't put it past him.

RACE FOR THE LOW AMATEUR HONORS

This is one of the best storylines this weekend as five amateurs made the cut at Shinnecock Hills.

Ryder Cowan is yet to start but his competitors are all going backwards in these tough conditions. Here's a look at all of the non-pros' scores:

  • E Ryder Cowan (Yet to start)
  • +5 Jackson Koivun (11)
  • +6 Marek Fleming (14)
  • +6 Miles Russell (11)
  • +10 Bryan Lee (15)

CUT STAT

A great stat from Elias Sports Bureau:

The two players with the longest active streaks of making the cut at the U.S. Open (Brooks Koepka-11 straight and Harris English-10 straight) both missed the cut this week. The longest active streaks now belong to Xander Schauffele and Hideki Matsuyama, both now at 10.

WHY YOU NEED TO BE WITHIN 4 AFTER 54 HOLES...

In each of the last 27 U.S. Opens, the eventual winner was either leading or within four strokes of the lead at the end of the third round. The last champion to overcome a deficit of at least five strokes at the end of the third round was Lee Janzen, who was five back entering the final round in 1998 at The Olympic Club.

Stat: Elias Sports Bureau

GREENS DEFINITELY FASTER TODAY

The USGA said the greens would be faster today and they certainly are, and conditions are tough with winds remaining high.

Here's what the USGA said earlier:

"Putting green speeds ranged from the high 10s to low 11s on the stimpmeter and will settle to the upper 10s to 11 feet as the day goes on. Greens were single-cut."

JAMES NICHOLAS SLIDING DOWN

The New York native has a large number of friends and family cheering him on this week, and he has plummeted down the leaderboard today.

The Korn Ferry Tour player holed out for birdie from the greenside bunker on the 1st but is now nine-over for ten holes after making five bogeys on the front nine before a quadruple-bogey 8 on the 10th. Ouch.

TOMMY FLEETWOOD WITH A BEAUTY INTO THE 2ND

From 230 yards, with a big crosswind, Tommy delivers...

The Englishman starts par-par to remain at one-over.

WHO DO WE THINK WILL WIN THE US OPEN?

I've just done a straw poll with the Golf Monthly news team asking who we think is going to win this US Open.

Here's who the team think with 36-holes to go:

  • Elliott Heath (me): Xander Schauffele
  • Matt Cradock: Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Jonny Leighfield: Xander Schauffele
  • Mike Hall: Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Jakob Barnes: Wyndham Clark

SUNGJAE IM CHIPS IN...FROM THE GREEN

DUSTIN JOHNSON FIGHTING BACK

After a disastrous 77 yesterday, Dustin Johnson is going along nicely here.

He is one-under-par thru 10 and back to +2 for the tournament.

It's great to see him (sort of) in the mix at a Major. One of my favorite players.

SPIETH'S TEXAS WEDGE

Jordan Spieth opts to putt it from over the back on the brutally difficult par 3 11th and it just manages to stay up on the putting surface.

He misses and falls back to +5 for the tournament, which currently has him in a tie for 49th.

SO COOL...

One I missed earlier from Angel Hidalgo... How good was this?

UNDER-PAR WATCH

We have just three players under-par so far today... To quote Tiger Woods, it's really tough out there.

The three in red digits (for the day) are:

  • Emiliano Grillo (-3/13)
  • Andrew Putnam (-1/5)
  • Dustin Johnson (-1/11)

LUDVIG ABERG GOING BACKWARDS

The Swede began his round bogey-bogey and has dropped back to +3 for the tournament.

I know there's a long way to go but it feels like his race is run.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER UP NEXT

A reminder of the upcoming tee times, with World No.1 Scottie Scheffler next on the tee.

I think he could do very well today in these conditions.

The final group goes out in under 2hrs time.

  • 2.01pm: Scottie Scheffler, Brian Harman
  • 2.12pm: Maverick McNealy, Rory McIlroy
  • 2.23pm: Keith Mitchell, Akshay Bhatia
  • 2.34pm: Gary Woodland, Ryo Hisatsune
  • 2.50pm: Ryder Cowan (a), William Mouw
  • 3.01pm: Sahith Theegala, Sam Burns
  • 3.12pm: Harry Higgs, Justin Thomas
  • 3.23pm: Collin Morikawa, Tom Kim
  • 3.34pm: Sam Stevens, Xander Schauffele
  • 3.45pm: Matt Fitzpatrick, Wyndham Clark

TOP 10's BEST US OPEN RESULTS:

If we're going with experience this weekend, it looks like Clark, Fitzpatrick, Schauffele, Morikawa and Thomas could be the ones still there come tomorrow evening...

  • -7 Wyndham Clark (Win, 2023)
  • -3 Matt Fitzpatrick (Win, 2022)
  • -3 Xander Schauffele (T3rd, 2019)
  • -3 Sam Stevens (T23rd, 2025)
  • -3 Tom Kim (T8th, 2023)
  • -2 Collin Morikawa (T4th, 2021)
  • -1 Justin Thomas (T8th, 2020)
  • -1 Harry Higgs (CUT, 2024)
  • -1 Sam Burns (T7th, 2025)
  • -1 Sahith Theegala (T27th, 2023)

WHAT AN AFTERNOON WE HAVE AHEAD

On the face of it, Wyndham Clark has already won this US Open. And he may well have.

But if he hasn't, and does go back to the field today in these demanding conditions, then we have a fascinating final 36-holes ahead of us.

Scheffler and McIlroy are both just seven back and I feel they could still have a say.

Just as I write this, Scheffler pulls his opening drive into the left rough.

THESE WINDS ARE NOT DROPPING...YET

Gusts of up to 30mph are expected until 4pm local time, although they are forecast to die down a touch later on. Could that benefit Wyndham Clark?

EAGLE FOR FLEETWOOD!

Tommy Fleetwood holes a monster eagle putt at the 5th to get to one-under for the day and back to level for the tournament. That's huge.

It's his first eagle at a US Open since 2023

SCHEFFLER IN TROUBLE AT THE FIRST

After pulling his drive left, Scheffler's approach comes up short-left into the thick fescue. Not where you want to be.

His pitch shot finds the right-side bunker. Not the start he was looking for.

RORY MCILROY UNDERWAY

The World No.2, who is seven back of the lead but only three off 2nd at the halfway stage, pulls his tee shot with a long-iron into the first-cut of rough.

MILES RUSSELL BIRDIE

The extremely talented 17-year-old rolls in a birdie at the 14th to get back to +7 - which is still a long way back from Ryder Cowan's level-par total.

Jackson Koivun is second in the amateur race at +6 so Cowan has quite a large lead. That certainly isn't safe around Shinnecock Hills, though.

SCHEFFLER BOGEY

The World No.1 gets it up-and-down from the right greenside bunker on the 1st to only drop one shot. Not the start he was looking for, but it could have been worse after spending lots of time in the left fescue.

GRILLO STILL GOING ALONG NICELY

Emiliano Grillo is still three-under-par for the day, which is he lowest of anyone on the course. He has the par 5 16th up next so *could* get to four-under.

A birdie-par-par finish would card a 66 and put him to -1 for the tournament.

Whether he can manage that is another question.

MCILROY BUNKERED AT THE FIRST

The Masters champion found the right greenside bunker with his approach and he has played a beauty to within 5ft.

His short game is so underrated, in my opinion.

Big par putt incoming...and he makes it. Solid start.

HANDING OVER...

Jonny Leighfield will tag in and take you through the next hour or so.

SCHEFFLER STUMBLES

Brian Harman completes his second up-and-down in succession to remain at E for the Championship, but Scottie Scheffler isn't so lucky.

The five-time Major winner rolls a gentle left-to-righter at the hole, but it takes a loop around the left edge and kicks out the other side, leaving him a frustrating two-inch tap-in for bogey. He's back to two-over.

75 MINUTES TO GO

The leading pair tee off at 3:45pm local time. Matt Fitzpatrick has just been seen walking over to the range to start his warm-up. Can he pile some pressure on Clark? The neutral will certainly hope so.

BHATIA COMES UP SHORT

Akshay Bhatia has a long-range chance to move under par for the championship at the first, but it comes up far too short and that will hopefully be a par for the left-hander.

MCILROY SAVES PAR

McIlroy took 5 iron into the second, which is playing 229 yards into the wind today, and left himself 95 feet away just off the front of the green. His second shot, a putt, was sublime though.

The Northern Irishman trickled it to two feet and cleaned up for a very satisfying par.

GRILLO AGAIN

Emiliano Grillo has done it again! The Argentine birdies the par-5 16th from fairly short range and is now at one-under (T7th). That's his sixth birdie of the day. He's flying and absolutely in this now.

SCHEFFLER BATTLING

All is not well for the World No.1 in terms of his physical health, it seems, but he's grinding away and chisels out a first par of the day. It arrived out of the left rough, which is not where he wants to be if there's some pain in his wrist.

GRILLO UP AGAINST IT

The Argentine has found sand at the par-3 17th, and his second doesn't guarantee par. Far from it. He may well be looking at bogey, which would be so frustrating at this time of the day.

Elsewhere, Scottie Scheffler has found his first fairway of the day on number four after a small intervention by a sprinkler head. Some guys get all the luck!

A LONG WAY FOR PAR

McIlroy leaves himself in a similar position to the second at the par-4 third, with a monster putt for birdie. He left that last one stone dead, this one isn't. 12-15 feet left for par, but at least it's relatively straight...

Elsewhere, Grillo has a knee-knocker for bogey at the 17th after sending his par attempt by at a good speed.

BOGEY FOR MCILROY

No good for the World No.2. It scuttles out to the right and he taps it forlornly for bogey. Still, the next two are apparently slightly easier, so maybe there's a chance for an immediate response.

SCHEFFLER IN CLOSE

Very nice, Scottie! Scheffler drops his approach at the fourth to no more than 15 feet and he'll have a really good look for birdie.

RED IS SCARCE

There are only 10 players under par for the championship at this stage. Only five players are under par for their rounds today. It's tough sledding out there, folks.

NO CIGAR FOR SCHEFFLER

Scheffler's birdie try at the fourth doesn't really trouble the hole. That was a strange effort, certainly not his best. Par it is!

FITZPATRICK RANGE SESSION

The TV coverage keeps flicking back to Matt Fitzpatrick on the range as he prepares for his 3:45pm tee time. I might be wrong, but it doesn't look as though he's all too happy with his ball-striking at this stage. He will hope that changes once he's out on the links.

MCNEALY JOINS THE PARTY

Maverick McNealy is an excellent putter, world class really. He proves it at the fourth by rolling home a 12-foot birdie try to reach one-under. It wasn't to be for McIlroy from around double the distance, however, and he's having to make do with a par 4.

GRILLO SIGNS FOR 67

What a round that is from Emiliano Grillo. The Argentinian taps in for par at the last after sending his second to the back portion of the green, and that will be a three-under 67 which brings him right back into it.

THAT'S CHARACTER

Ludvig Aberg's last birdie was on the 15th hole in round one... Thursday. The streak is now over, though, thanks to this sublime shot at the eighth on Saturday.

30 MINUTES TO GO

Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick will begin in half an hour's time. Below are just a few defining stats surrounding the pair of leaders...

WOODLAND MAKES FIRST BIRDIE

The hardest hole on the course today is the third. It's averaging 4.6 strokes and hadn't generated a birdie all day. Until now. Gary Woodland confidently rolls in a birdie from 10 feet and he moves back up to even par for the championship.

BEAUTIFUL FROM BHATIA

A lovely flighted approach into the fourth drops and stops at no more than 10 feet for Akshay Bhatia, and he should have a chance to reach +1.

MONSTER DRIVERS

Maverick McNealy drove the ball over 350 yards on the fifth. It was the third-longest drive of the day. The leading man on the fifth so far is a certain Rory McIlroy, with a 365-yard smash off the tee.

McIlroy's approach comes up short, though, and it will be another test of his short game to escape with par.

BHATIA MAKES BIRDIE

The left-hander swishes his broom-handle putter back and forth, pushing his ball into the hole and taking advantage of that lovely approach just now.

Bhatia had bogeyed the second and third, but that will make him feel a lot better.

KIM AND MORIKAWA UNDERWAY

We're creeping towards the final two, with Collin Morikawa and Tom Kim just beginning their third rounds.

Up ahead, Justin Thomas three-putts the first and bogeys the first. Strangely so does his playing partner, Harry Higgs.

WIND PLAYING TRICKS

Tom Kim hits what looks like a decent shot into the first, but a gust of wind pushes it right and over the back of the green, leaving the Korean a brutally tough up-and-down for par.

Meanwhile, Morikawa is wary of a flier and leaves his approach right up the front of the first. Funny that.

CHANGE OF HANDS

And with that, the wonderful Mike Hall will take you through the next hour of play as the leaders begin. Enjoy!

IN THE CHASING PACK

We await the start of Wyndham Clark's round, with the leader underway in just 10 more minutes, but with a four-shot lead, who can close the gap on Moving Day?

Maverick McNealy and Rory McIlroy are giving it a go, with birdie putts converted by both at the fifth and both in the top 10

AMAZING, RORY MCILROY!

Wow, Rory McIlroy! A huge, huge putt from 66 feet with a massive break finds the cup and that's two birdies in a row! He's on the move, and the fans are loving that!

That leaves him six back and not out of this yet.

MCILROY KEEPS MOMENTUM GOING

McIlroy follows up his monster birdie putt with a lovely shot onto the green at the par-3 7th. It leaves a lengthy putt for birdie, but the way he's going it's very possible.

FINAL PAIRING UNDERWAY

And what a final pairing it is, featuring 2022 champion Matt Fitzpatrick and 2023 winner Wyndham Clark.

Both of these players have been in great form this season. Let's see if they can keep that going today.

MCILROY AT IT AGAIN

Here he goes again. The gap to Wyndham Clark is now just five for McIlroy as he makes that three consecutive birdies, the latest coming at the seventh.

Is this turning into one of those days where McIlroy quickly breezes past others on the leaderboard, seemingly at ease? It looks very much like it at the moment.

FINAL PAIR AT THE FIRST

Clark's approach at the first leaves him on the green, but he doesn't look too impressed as it inches away from the flag. Still, it stays up and he looks set for at least a par.

Fitzpatrick is in a greenside bunker with his second, but he gets it close enough for a realistic chance of par.

MCILROY'S MONSTER PUTT

Here's McIlroy's incredible birdie putt at the sixth...

BOGEYS FOR FINAL PAIRING

It's a poor start from the final pairing of Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick, who both bogey.

CLARK'S LEAD CUT IN HALF

Well, they do call it Moving Day for a reason. Suddenly, from enjoying a four-shot cushion 10 minutes ago, Clark's lead is cut to two thanks to his opening-hole bogey and a birdie for Sam Stevens at the second, who moves to -4.

WELL DONE, RORY

After the second round, Rory McIlroy talked about trying to make fewer mistakes than his opponents if he's to cut into Wyndham Clark's lead.

He's certainly taking his own advice. Facing a tricky two-putt from 54 feet to save par, he gets his first close and that'll be par at 8 when he looked in danger of a bogey.

Thanks to Wyndham Clark's early bogey, McIlroy is now just four back of the lead.

FITZPATRICK SLIPS AGAIN

A poor start for Matt Fitzpatrick, where he bogeyed the first, could get worse as he leaves his second at the par-3 second shorter than he'd like.

Here comes his par putt... and it narrowly misses. Suddenly, he's five back on -1.

BIRDIE FOR BURNS

Sam Burns gives his chances a boost with a birdie at the fifth to move to -2, four behind Wyndham Clark. He and several others will sense blood after Clark's opening bogey. Let's see how the leader responds.

MCILROY SCRAMBLING AT 9TH

At the ninth, McIlroy's third is a chip onto the green. It's a little short, but you would back him to make his par.

PRESSURE ON FOR LEADER

Leader Wyndham Clark is in the rough on the third. His approach fails to make the green and the look of disappointment is written all over his face.

Now McIlroy for par at 9. Nice from the six-time Major winner and he could be just three back shortly, if Clark doesn't recover at the third.

NICE MOMENT FOR SPENCER

A nice moment for pro Spencer Tibbits on the 17th....

LEADER SAVES PAR AT 3RD

Wyndham Clark recovers beautifully at the third with a lovely long putt to ensure he'll save his par.

SCHAUFFELE MISJUDGES APPROACH

Xander Schauffele is the latest to get caught out by the wind. His approach at the par-4 fourth lands short of the green to leave him scrambling to make par. He's at -2 for now.

That's because he bogeyed the third. Meanwhile, Sam Stevens, who is solo second, bogeys the third to move back to -3, handing Wyndham Clark a lead of three.

IT JUST GETS WORSE FOR MATT FITZPATRICK

Matt Fitzpatrick's poor start plunges the depths further with his third consecutive bogey at the third. He's now even par, six back of Wyndham Clark.

EAGLE FOR JT

Nice work from Justin Thomas. After beginning his round with three bogeys, he makes partial amends with an eagle at 5...

SETBACK FOR MCILROY

Rory McIlroy slips back to -1 with a bogey at 10 to bring his recent momentum to a halt.

PAR FOR CLARK

A simple par for Clark at the fourth keeps him six-under, with the American remaining three clear of Stevens at three-under.

MORIKAWA DROPS A SHOT

The par 5 fifth has been the easiest hole on the course but, for Morikawa, that will feel like a two dropped shots with the two-time Major winner making bogey.

He drops from one-under to level-par, six back of Clark.

BOGEY FOR RORY

BURNS REMAINS STRONG

He performed excellently last year, and Burns is producing once again, birdieing the fifth and parring since to get to three-under.

XANDER BIRDIES

Just as I write that, Burns bogeys the eighth to drop to two-under, while Schauffele birdies the fifth to move to three-under.

Sitting three back of Clark, Schauffele is solo third, while Stevens is solo second, thanks to a birdie at the fifth.

BIRDIE FOR CLARK

He comes close at the par 5 fifth, but Clark's eagle putt just misses and it's a birdie for the leader, who moves to seven-under. He leads by three.

NEAR ACE FOR KIM

What a shot from Tom Kim, who nearly aces the par 3 seventh.

His mid-iron finishes up four-foot away and he'll have a good chance of moving back to one-under.

DROPPED SHOT FOR RORY

McIlroy bogeys the 12th and drops down the leaderboard, while Tom Kim birdies the seventh and holds solo fifth.

BOGEY FOR XANDER

Bogeys are starting to happen here in New York, with Schauffele dropping a shot at the sixth to fall back to two-under.

CLARK EXTENDS HIS LEAD

GO ON TOMMY LAD

Fleetwood bogeys the final hole and that's a level-par 70 for the Englishman, who finishes his day one-over for the championship.

He fired a seven-under 63 at this layout in 2018, so isn't out of it going into Sunday...

BIG PUTT FROM CLARK

His putter has been on fire and, at the sixth, Clark rams his putt home from eight-feet to save par and stay seven-under, three clear of Stevens.

NEVER IN DOUBT

SCHEFFLER BIRDIES 14

He hasn't had his best stuff, but Scheffler produces a moment of magic at the 14th!

From 30-yards away, the World No.1 holes out and moves to level-par, showing some emotion in the process.

SCOTTIE ON A CHARGE

ROUND OF THE DAY

Only three players are under-par today, with Grillo producing the round of the day with a three-under 67.

He's jumped multiple spots and is T6th right now.

NEAR MISS FROM STEVENS

His birdie putt at the eighth just slides by, but that's an excellent par for Stevens, who remains four-under.

DROPPED SHOT FROM BURNS

From five-foot, Burns misses his par attempt and drops back to one-under.

SCRAPPY FROM RORY

He'll be frustrated with that, as McIlroy three putts from 55-foot, including a missed par attempt from four-foot, to drop back to one-over.

SO GOOD...!

MISTAKE FROM THE LEADER

He's in the middle of the fairway at the eighth, but his approach is poor and finds the greenside bunker.

Clark is three clear, but a tough up-and-down awaits him at the par 4.

WYNDHAM HATES HIS APPROACH

Wyndham Clark is clearly not a fan of his approach shot at the 8th, calling it the "worst shot of [his] life."

His exit from the bunker wasn't much better, and he ends up taking a bogey to cut his lead.

Is this the start of a massive slip?

BOUNCING OUT THE BUNKER

Even a bunker can't hold Scottie Scheffler back today. His approach shot on 16 bounces out of the greenside bunker and he's now got a golden opportunity to sink an eagle putt...

WHO ELSE BUT SCHEFFLER?

When things are going your way...

SO CLOSE TO EAGLE

Scottie Scheffler has to settle for a birdie, but he's on a hot streak here...

SCHAUFFELE SLIPS

Xander Schauffele drops two shots at the 10th and goes back to even par with that double bogey.

CHALLENGERS DROP SHOTS

Sam Stevens drops a shot on 10 to fall back to three-under and give Clark a three-stroke lead again.

Tom Kim also drops a shot on 11 with a really poor putt that he leaves short. He's back to one-under.

HE'S HUMAN AFTER ALL

Scottie Scheffler's hot streak comes to an end with a bogey on 17 after an agonizing missed putt.

10TH GREEN STRIKES AGAIN

Wyndham Clark can't keep his ball on the green at 10... but he holds his nerve and saves it with a par in the end.

SCOTTIE BOTTLES BIRDIE CHANCE

A brilliant approach shot left Scottie Scheffler a relatively easy putt for birdie at the last... and he missed it.

He finishes the day with a 69 to sit at one-under.

CLARK KEEPS HIS COOL

Meanwhile... leader Wyndham Clark just keeps rolling in crucial par saves like this one. He is not letting this lead slip any time soon.

TOM KIM CLOSES IN

With shots being dropped left, right, and center, it's Tom Kim who now moves into solo second at two-under...

WYNDHAM CLARK IS NOT LETTING GO

Every time it looks like Wyndham Clark is in trouble, he finds a way to salvage par and keep everyone else at bay. He's now five strokes ahead...

THE LEAD EXTENDS TO SIX

Wyndham Clark with his first birdie of the back nine and he now takes a six-stroke lead.

STEADY SAHITH

Sahith Theegala has put together a really solid round here with a bogey on 6 canceled out on 18 with an important birdie to go back to one-under and a share of second place.

CLARK DROPS A SHOT

It's been a while since we saw Wyndham Clark falter, but he's just dropped a shot on 15 with a poor putt from close distance.

WHAT A WAY TO BOUNCE BACK

Wyndham Clark with arguably the best shot of the week here on 16. After a bogey on the previous hole, he needed this. Eagle putt incoming...

EAGLE FOR CLARK 🦅

After that stunning second shot, Wyndham Clark nails the putt and registers an eagle that might just have won him the US Open...

THAT'S HOW YOU WIN IT

There's still a day left to play but it's par saves like this that make it really difficult to see anyone catching Wyndham on Sunday...
