US Open 2019 LIVE tennis results: Novak Djokovic OUT after retiring with injury vs Stan Wawrinka

Welcome back to the Evening Standard’s live coverage of the US Open.

Sunday was full of drama as Novak Djokovic sensationally retired with injury during his clash with Stan Wawrinka.

The Serbian was booed by the crowd after succumbing to a shoulder injury while two sets down to the Swiss and is out of the tournament he won last year.

Roger Federer had no such trouble, easing past David Goffin 6-2, 6-2, 6-0, while Serena Williams also secured a straight sets victory.
