The third major of the season is here as the US Open returns to Pebble Beach for the first time since 2010.
Graeme McDowell was the victor then and this time around his compatriot Rory McIlroy is tipped as one of the favourites as he looks to follow a second win of the season in Canada last week with another US Open title.
Tiger Woods missed the cut at the PGA Championship after claiming a historic 15th Major championship with his win at Augusta National in April, but a tie for 9th place at the Memorial Tournament, and plenty of practice rounds at Pebble Beach, since then will stand him in good stead.
Brooks Koepka, the defending champion, has a staggering four Major wins from his eight starts having defended his PGA title at Bethpage Black last month. This week he is looking to become only the second man in US Open history to win three on the bounce, a feat not achieved since Willie Anderson in 1905.
