US Olympian Lolo Jones wins Tom Holland handstand challenge

US Olympian Lolo Jones is being praised after participating in, and winning, Tom Holland’s handstand challenge on social media.

As celebrities practise social distancing from their homes amid the coronavirus pandemic, Holland decided to challenge his friend and fellow actor Jake Gyllenhaal to a competition that saw the pair attempt to put on a shirt while doing a handstand.

The challenge, which has since gone viral, prompted Jones, a professional bobsledder and hurdler, to try the workout for herself.

“When I saw Spider-Man and Jake Gyllenhaal do a handstand challenge with one shirt… first I want to thank them for having their shirt off because I haven’t seen a man in 25 days and also,” the Olympian wrote on Twitter, alongside a video of her attempting the challenge.

In the clip, Jones places her glass of wine on the floor before getting into position.

“Can’t be that hard,” the caption on the video reads.

Once she’s in a handstand, Jones then proceeds to put on two T-shirts. “Why God chose women to deliver kids in three… two… one... “ she wrote in another caption.

Jones concludes the video, which has since been viewed more than 67,000 times, by taking another sip of her wine while still holding herself upside down.

“Awesome!! You totally outdid them all,” one person tweeted.

Another said: “Thank you for showing them girl power in action.”

Previously, Ryan Reynolds shared his reaction to being nominated to try the challenge, sharing a video of himself watching Holland do a handstand before stating: “No!”
