US newspaper wages in decline

Wages in the US newspaper industry fell 1.42% on average last year, according to figures from the Inland Press Association, which surveyed the pay rates at more than 400 newspapers.

Editors' salaries fell by 4.6%; publishers' base pay declined by 2.1%; and creative directors working online suffered the biggest fall at 7.4%.
