US issues ‘worldwide caution’ for citizens, strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure continue

In an advisory posted on its official travel portal on Wednesday, the department said: “Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation.”

The alert urged Americans worldwide to “exercise increased caution” and advised those currently in the Middle East to remain vigilant.

“Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise caution and heightened vigilance and should be prepared for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions,” the State Department said.

The department added that airlines in the region had altered operations, with some postponing the resumption of earlier flight schedules and others cancelling routes.

In a post on X, the State Department warned, “Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including U.S. businesses and other institutions.”
