Julianne Moore is the latest celebrity encouraging US citizens to vote in the upcoming election on 3 November.

On Monday, the Hollywood star made a cameo on the Instagram page of fashion designer Christian Siriano, sporting one of his dresses from his latest collection.

The black floor-length, long-sleeved gown is covered in bold white lettering that reads “Vote”.

Moore poses in the gown by a swimming pool in what appears to be a private garden.

“Monday morning message is to VOTE!!” reads the caption.

"Such an honor to have an actress and activist who I admire so much @juliannemoore to be the first to wear our new collection.

“Fashion can be beautiful and powerful and we will see you all on November 3rd at the polls. Thank you Julianne!”

Moore’s own Instagram page has also been dedicated to encouraging voters to turn out at the polls in recent weeks.

The actor has also been campaigning for better media coverage of women running for Congress.

As part of #WeHaveHerBack, Moore shared a photograph of herself wearing a T-shirt with the slogan alongside a caption urging her followers to join the campaign.

“More women are running for Congress than ever and a woman is on a major party ticket for VP—the 1st time in 12 years,” she wrote.

“It's more important than ever that news media not perpetuate sexist & racist narratives when covering women candidates.”

The US election takes place on 3 November and will see Donald Trump go up against Joe Biden.

Biden has surged ahead in recent polls as the surprise of President Trump’s coronavirus diagnosis has thrown the final leg of the election into uncertainty.
