Donald Trump thinks George W. Bush not voting for him is 'sad'

Donald Trump response to George W. Bush’s decision not to vote for him was classic.

The Republican nominee was snubbed by the former US president when he cast his vote for the 43rd leader of the United States.

However, a spokesman for Mr Bush said he didn’t vote for Mr Trump's Democratic rival either. He declined to specify who the former president or the former first lady, Laura Bush, cast their votes for two weeks ago. Mr Bush, 70, left the presidential line of his ballot blank and instead cast votes for down-ballot Republicans.

Speaking to the Howie Carr radio show on Tuesday, Mr Trump's opinion on Mr Bush’s departure from party tradition by not voting for the Republican candidate was typical: “I think it’s sad. I think it’s sad.”

'Sad' is up there among Mr Trump's favourite adjectives, alongside 'loser', 'moron', 'dummy' and, lest we forget, 'nasty'.

He added: “When I see George Bush do that — and I was very critical of him for getting us into Iraq, which was obviously a horrible decision, and getting us out the way Obama got us out was obviously a horrible decision too. The combination, but I don’t think it has any impact. I don’t think it has any impact.”
