US Election 2020 result: Dublin Airport sad Joe Biden, Donald Trump viral tweet update as announcement looms

Dublin Airport shared a sad tweet as part of a Twitter trend joining in on the fun of the current US Election voting situation.

As it stands on Saturday at 10am, Joe Biden leads current president Donald Trump by 264 votes to 214.

A significant jump from the last 24 hours where the Democratic candidate led a 253-213 margin over the current leader of the US for some time.

During this longgggg time where vote counting seemed to almost stop, people took to Twitter posting Biden 253, Trump 213 and adding a third and so on option.

Some of the highlights of the trend were Blink - 182, Mayo - 1951, S-Club - 7... you get how it works.

Well Dublin Airport joined in on the fun but shared a quiet upsetting update of their passenger footfall compared to last year.

The Airport has practically become a ghost town due to the ongoing pandemic despite flights still operating in and out of the capital.

They took to Twitter posting the trend saying: Biden 253, Trump 213, Dublin Airport -91% along with a sad smiley emoji believed to be in relation to the huge drop in footfall at the Airport compared to 2019 figures.

Biden addressed an election-weary nation late on Friday night and delivered a not-quite-victory speech.

He is yet to be projected the winner overall but his pathway to the presidency is clear.

“Democracy works,” Biden said from his Delaware HQ with his running mate Kamala Harris close by.

“Your vote will be counted, I don't care how they try to stop it, I won't let it happen.”

But Donald Trump warned Joe Biden not to claim the presidency just days after falsely doing so himself.

On Election Day, with the Trump campaign ahead in several key states, the President came out and claimed he'd won them - despite not all the votes being counted.

Now, as they're counted and it becomes increasingly unlikely Trump will win reelection, he has baselessly claimed there is voter fraud.

And he has said he will barricade himself inside the Oval Office and refuse to come out if Biden wins the election, according to a US media report.

The President of the United states looks increasingly unlikely to win reelection but has vowed to throw the election to the courts because he has been 'cheated'.

Joe Biden is likely be the 46th President of the United States as he looked certain to deny Donald Trump a second term in the White House.

But he wouldn't take over straight away.

The President-elect has to wait until January to take the oath of office at the huge inauguration.

But between now and then, there's a number of things that are supposed to happen.

Biden will set up his transition team. There are usually Oval Office meetings between the President and President-elect.

And there's a number of things that will probably happen purely because the man who's vacating the White House is Donald Trump.
