US Election 2020: Donald Trump Tweet accuses Joe Biden and Democrats of trying to 'STEAL' vote

Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to accuse the Democrat Party of trying to 'steal' the US election.

Posting without context, the Republican candidate said votes cannot be cast after the polls have closed.

The message appeared shortly after challenger Joe Biden finished a speech to supporters in Delaware at around 12.45am (5.45am UK time).

He revealed he and his team believed the Democrats were "on-track" to win the US Election.

Twitter later labelled Trump’s message with a warning - questioning the accuracy of his claim

It read: “Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process.”

Donald Trump wrote: "I will be making a statement tonight. A big WIN!

"We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election.

"We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!"

There is currently no evidence the Democrats are trying to steal the election.

The flurry of activity came shortly after one of the biggest swing states, Florida, declared for Trump.

It was classed as a vital win for the sitting US President - and counts for 29 electoral votes.

The confidence of Republicans in victory in the key battleground proved justified.

Trump spends lots of time in the Sunshine State in his residence at Mar-a-Lago and has entertained world leaders there.

Earlier, Joe Biden foiled Donald Trump’s bid to win the state of Minnesota from the Democrats but it was the president who held on to Ohio, a state that has picked the winner in every presidential election since 1960 when it supported Richard Nixon’s candidacy against victor John F Kennedy.
