A POPULAR US bakery chain has suddenly closed all of its venues across the UK.
The “world-famous” American brand Cinnabon opened its first Scottish location in Livingston back in 2024.
The bakery chain opened a further three sites in Scotland, with two in Glasgow and one in Stirling.
However, The Sun has reported that the brand has now shut all its 12 sites across the UK.
The news outlet claimed customers realised last week that several of the Cinnabon sites across the UK had abruptly shut without warning.
Cinnabon’s UK website has also been taken down.
EG On the Move, which partnered with Cinnabon to bring the chain to the UK, announced it had decided to shut all its locations.
A spokesperson said: “EG On The Move has made the strategic decision to close all Cinnabon locations operated in the UK.
“This was not a decision taken lightly, but it reflects the strategic shift to focus on our core convenience retail business.
“This decision aligns with our wider business strategy to focus on areas where we can deliver the greatest value to our customers.”
The US brand is best known for selling a range of different Cinnamon buns. They also specialise in hot drinks.
Cinnabon opened its first store in Seattle, Washington, in December 1985. The bakery has since expanded with sites in more than 50 countries around the world.
