A pair of Dana White’s Contender Series graduates are set to square off on March 6.
Uros Medic (6-0) will face Aalon Cruz (8-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at an event that does not yet have a publicly announced location or venue, but is expected to be UFC 259.
A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie following an initial report from MMA DNA.
Serbia-born Medic is undefeated in his pro MMA career with all his wins coming by finish. He earned a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series 27 in August with a first-round finish of Mikey Gonzalez.
Cruz, who also punched his ticket to the UFC through the Contender Series, saw his four-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of Spike Carlyle in his promotional debut at UFC on ESPN+ 27 in February.
With the addition, the latest UFC 259 lineup includes:
- Aleksandar Rakic vs. Thiago Santos
- Randy Costa vs. Trevin Jones
- Aaron Cruz vs. Uros Medic
