Uri Geller says he'll help Scotland beat England in the Euros using his 2,600 spoons

Uri Geller has claimed he'll use his famous spoon-bending technique to help Scotland beat England in their Euro 2020 match.

The illusionist has said that he will summon the spirit of Robert The Bruce and use his energised spoons to give Scotland the win during Friday's game.

He is known for claiming to have influence over high profile events, including Boris Johnson being elected Prime Minister in the 2019 General Election.

But when he made the claims about the England v Scotland match on ITV's Lorraine on Friday, viewers were not convinced.

Speaking from his museum in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Uri told Lorraine Kelly: "During the match, I will be here because there is a massive screen."

He then showed off a car next to him, which was covered in thousands of spoons.

Uri continued: "This is my Cadillac, believe it or not, it has 2,600 spoons from very famous people, including Robert the Bruce.

"This spoon, Lorraine, was in his mouth so I'm summoning up his spirit."

Uri showed a picture of the King of Scots, who reigned from 1306 to his death in 1329, and led Scotland during the First War of Scottish Independence against England.

He said he was relying on the king's spoon and some of other accessories to lead Scotland to victory in the match.

"What I got from Scottish fans, they made me out to be William Wallace," holding up a picture of himself edited to look like like Mel Gibson as Wallace in Braveheart.

"With all this, I will be holding my Scottish shirt, which I got from very powerful people, they even printed my name in it: Geller 11."

He added: "So I will be sending my powers, I have to."

Uri then claimed he moved the ball from footballer Gary McAllister's foot during Euro 1996, causing him to miss a crucial penalty during the England and Scotland game.

He continued: "Lorraine, do you know, when I moved that ball from Gary McAllister's foot, I received 11,000 hate letters.

"I didn't know what to do, so I went down to Scotland and I bought a Scottish island, so I'm also the owner of around 250,000 seagull and puffins."

Uri also called on Scottish football fans to harness their energy to help the team win.

He went on: "The Scottish fans, obviously, who knows what I'll be getting from England when Scot beats England tomorrow."

Uri added: "I will unleash my powers, you all know what I've done in the past, stopped the Big Ben and all that, so Scottish fans if you can hear me, link up with me, feel my energy, and let's pray that you will win tomorrow."

The bizarre interview left viewers watching along on Twitter scratching their heads, with one joking: "Now England are f***** now Uri Geller is on Scotland's side."

"I hope the English FA and police are going to investigate Uri Geller for match fixing," another teased.

*Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
