Urgent warning to pupils on specific bus to Swansea comprehensive: 'Do not come to school'

Pupils who travel on a specific bus service to a Swansea school were urgently warned to stay away on Wednesday, November 18, due to a positive Covid-19 case.

Bishop Vaughan Catholic School in Morriston issued the advice to year 11 pupils and other youngsters who relied on the 603 bus service.

But the rules do not apply to years 7 and 8.

The school, in a Facebook statement, said: “Urgent information for ALL Year 11 and any pupils (apart from Years 7 and 8) who use the 603 bus service.

“DO NOT come to school (on) Wednesday 18th November. We will inform you of a return date as soon as possible.

“Pupils in Years 7 and 8 can return as planned tomorrow on the 603 service.”

In a further post, the school explained it was “due to a positive Covid-19 case” that they were handing out the advice.

The bus route covers the areas of Loughor and Gorseinon.

The school went on to clarify that the reason why years 7 and 8 were exempt was due to self-isolation rules already in place.

Bishop Vaughan Catholic School, in a further statement, added: “Pupils in Years 7 and 8 who travel on the 603 have been self isolating since 4th November.

“They have not been affected.”
