Urgent vaccination jobs recruiting right now in Liverpool and Wirral

The Covid-19 vaccination programme continues to be rolled out nationwide, with millions of people in the most vulnerable groups already receiving their first jab.

But with such an ambitious programme to vaccinate millions more as the year progresses, the NHS is urgently seeking new recruits to administer the jabs.

NHS Professionals - which works in partnership with hospital trusts to provide a bank of highly skilled workers who want to work within the NHS - is seeking people to join its vaccination programme teams in both Liverpool and Wirral.

Parliament recently changed the law to allow a wider group of registered and non-registered professionals who can complete the appropriate training to deliver vaccines.

In other words, to perform this role, you do not need to be an NHS healthcare professional, as full training will be provided.

Covid-19 vaccinators will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of the vaccine(s).

The job advert states: "The post holder will be responsible for administering the vaccine to clients within a team of staff working in a clinical team as part of the mass vaccination delivery model under the direction and supervision of a registered healthcare professional.

"The role will be offered on a flexible basis, but we do require you to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week."

Those joining the programme will be given comprehensive training, including rigorous supervision and assessments for vaccinators.

Once completed, job holders will be responsible for the following: Configuration of the vaccination station; administration of the vaccine; disposal of clinical waste and change of PPE as per national guidelines; adherence to infection control practices between individuals.

Appropriate training, supervision and PPE will be provided to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.

The job advert continues: "To be successful in this role, you will need to show competency, commitment and willingness to complete the appropriate learning and development courses as required, to demonstrate the right capabilities for the position.

"This will include vaccine training, administration training and NHS statutory and mandatory training."

Although you do not need to be an NHS healthcare professional, certain minimum requirements will need to be met because of the medical nature of this position.

Essential qualities include being at least 18 years of age, having experience or a qualification in an area related to health and social care, substantial work experience in a customer service role and possession of a first aid qualification.

This role is available in a number of locations across England and, if successful, you will be given the opportunity to work at one or a number of local vaccination sites in your region.

Rates of pay are £10.09 - £11.19 per hour.
