Urgent search to trace missing Ayrshire man last spotted near scene of van crash

Police have launched an urgent search to trace a missing Ayrshire man last spotted near the scene of a road crash.

Gary Cowan was last known to be in the vicinity of the B769 near Stewarton following a road crash involving a white Nissan van.

Police say they are concerned for the Irvine man's welfare and are now calling on members of the public to help find Gary.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland are appealing for information that could help trace Gary Cowan who has been reported missing.

"Gary is from the Irvine area however was last known to be in the vicinity of the B769 near Stewarton, East Ayrshire following a road crash involving a white Nissan van.

"Officers are concerned for Gary's welfare and request anyone with information that could assist enquiries to call 101 quoting incident number 2835 of October 7."
