Urgent search launched to trace missing Scots teenager amid growing concern for her welfare

A Scots teenager is missing amid growing concern for her welfare.

Karisse Lavelle, 18, was last seen in the Beech Avenue area of Paisley around 6.50pm on Thursday, July 23.

She has not been heard from since and both her family and Police Scotland are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Karisse is known to sometimes visit the Johnstone area of Renfrewshire and the Barrhead area of Glasgow and also has links within Paisley.

The 18-year-old is described as being 5ft 4ins tall and of a medium build with a fair complexion, long brown hair and brown eyes.

She was wearing a black hooded top, black leggings and white Converse trainers at the time of her disappearance.

Sergeant Matt Richardson of Paisley police station said: “Along with her family, we are becoming increasingly concerned for Karisse’s welfare and are keen to locate her as soon as possible.

“She is known to visit the Johnstone and Barrhead areas as well as having links in Pasiley. We would urge anyone who may have seen Karisse to contact us. Similarly, if Karisse is reading this, let us know you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2953 of 22 July.
