Urgent search for missing 16-year-old girl as police launch appeal

Police have launched an appeal to find a 16-year-old girl who has not been seen for a day.

Rhian Oliver went missing from Northampton yesterday and officers are now trying to locate her.

She is described as medium build, 4ft 8in in height and with long dark brown hair, Northants Live reports.

Police issued an appeal on their Twitter account just after 2am this morning, urging anyone who may have seen the teenager to get in touch.

People who believe they may have useful information on Rhian's whereabouts can contact the Force Control room by calling 101 and quoting incident 513 of the 07/10/2021.

According to the charity Missing People, 170,000 people are reported missing to the police every year in the UK.

Of the total, nearly 98,000 are adults and more than 70,000 are children.

The vast majority of missing people are found or return within 24 hours, with only two per cent of children and five per cent of adults missing for more than a week.
