Urgent search for missing 14-year-old who disappeared after leaving school

An urgent search has been launched to find a missing school girl who has not been seen for more than 24 hours.

Police have urged anyone with information to call 101 as Shakaya-Leigh's family is growing increasingly concerned.

The 14-year-old disappeared just after 4.15pm on Wednesday, March 17.

A family member told Bristol Live: "She has been missing from the Speedwell area of Bristol since leaving school yesterday. Me, my family and friends are very worried about her and need her home."

Avon and Somerset police have launched an investigation and have urged the teenager to get in touch.

A spokeswoman said: "Officers are actively making enquiries to trace her.

"Shakaya-Leigh, people are worried about you. If you see this please contact your family or call 101.

"If you have any information about Shakaya-Leigh's whereabouts, please ring 101 and quote the reference 5221057314."

Alternatively, can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form.

No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.
