A teenager has gone missing after last being seen heading towards the River Tyne.
Kieran Ritchie, 19, was last seen in the area of Evistones Gardens, Walker on Monday afternoon walking in the direction of the water.
Police have described him as "high risk" and have launched an urgent search for him.
Both officers and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Kieran, of Walker Road, Newcastle , is described as 5ft 8ins, of slim build and with brown wavy hair.
"He was last seen wearing a black jumper and black trousers with a white stripe down the leg.
"Anyone who has seen Kieran since yesterday lunch time, or has information about his whereabouts, should contact police.
"You should call 101 quoting HRN M004765/19 or email central.intelligence@northumbria.pnn.police.uk ."
