Urgent search continues for Consett teenager Lucy Candlish who has been missing for three days

The search continues for a County Durham teenager who was reported missing.

Lucy Candlish, 19, from Consett, has not been seen since leaving her family home in Blackhill at around 5.30pm on Sunday.

Her family say she was last seen leaving her house after arguing with a friend on the phone.

Durham Constabulary said the 19-year-old was wearing a blue and white shirt jacket, black jeans and black Sketcher trainers.

She is described as being around 5ft 6ins with blue eyes and blonde hair, had her hair tied in a bun and was not wearing any make up.

Lucy, who works as a carer, failed to attend work or return home on Monday morning and the police were contacted.

Officers have issued appeals to the public in a bid to try and track Lucy down.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary confirmed on Wednesday that she remains missing.

Speaking on behalf of the family, her sister Beverley Candlish pleaded with Lucy to "just come home".

Family members and neighbours have searched the local area over the past two days in the hope of finding any information.

In a direct plea to Lucy, Beverley said: "Just come home. You're not in trouble, just please come home."

Durham Constabulary asked anyone who has seen Lucy to contact Consett response on 101.
