Urgent rule update issued to all Primark, IKEA, ASDA,Tesco, Aldi and Home Bargains shoppers when lockdown lifts

Non-essential shops have already begun to reopen but shoppers have been warned they may be breaking the rules if they do this.

From April 26, shoppers will once again be able to visit their favourite stores to browse and buy products in-person - rather than online.

While this level of normality is exciting, a raft of rules will remain in place. This includes social distancing and limits on the number of people in the store at one time.

It will also still be against the law to meet anybody from outside your household or bubble indoors - meaning if you go to the shops with people from outside your existing household or bubble, you are breaking the rules.

The rules mean that while you can queue for a shop outside with friends and family outside of your household and bubble, you can't shop indoors with them, reports Manchester Evening News.

You won't be able to meet indoors until May when the country is set to move to level two - initially in groups of up to four people from no more than two households.

Indoor hospitality is also expected to resume in May, with alcohol being served, and pubs or restaurants allowed to stay open until 22:30 with two-hour time-limited booking slots.

Nicola Sturgeon announced earlier this week that from Friday six people will be able to meet with up to six households outdoors. The travel ban within Scotland will also be lifted.

The First Minister said: "So, from Friday - that's Friday this week the 16th of April - we will all be able to travel anywhere within Scotland for the purposes of outdoor socialising, recreation or informal exercise.

"And we are also able to relax the rules for meeting people outdoors, again from Friday this week. At the moment, a maximum of four adults from two households are permitted to meet, outdoors. From Friday onwards, that will change to six adults from up to six households."
