Urgent recall of pork scratchings after salmonella outbreak

An urgent product recall has been issued for pork scratching products after an outbreak of salmonella

People have been urged not to eat any of the snacks with the best before dates up to and including February 2022.

The recall involves some Mr Porky, Jay's and The Real Pork Crackling Company products because they might be contaminated with salmonella, the Mirror reports.

Public Health England were reported to have said 176 people had fallen ill with salmonella poisoning and that a third needed hospital treatment.

The Food Standards Agency said six products in all were affected and they were all made by the Tayto Group Ltd, Britain's largest snack manufacturer.
