Urgent recall of popular Dunnes Stores dessert over nut allergy fears

Dunnes Stores has issued an urgent recall of a batch of Luxury Apple Pie over allergen fears.

The implicated batch was mispacked with Dunnes Stores Pear and Almond Pie, the FSAI notice said.

The product contains almond nuts which are not declared on the label making it dangerous for customers who are allergic to almonds.

The implicated batch is the Dunnes Stores Luxury Apple Pie with the pack size of 750g and the use-by date of 04/10/2021.

A notice on the FSAI website reads: "The implicated batch of Dunnes Stores Luxury Apple Pie was mispacked with Dunnes Stores Pear and Almond Pie.

"The product contains almond nuts which are not mentioned on the label. This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almonds."
