An urgent recall notice has been issued for an item of popular children’s clothes by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
The warning was given after a safety issue was identified with a girl’s one-piece garment with a multicolour floral print sold on the Aliexpress platform.
Elasticated chords with loose ends in the neck area of the garment were said to be a strangulation risk.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said the garment also lacked any device to prevent fraying.

It said: “The risk associated with the product is that of strangulation. In the neck area there are elasticated cords with loose ends lacking any device to prevent fraying. The cords could become caught and cause strangulation.”
The brand of the clothing is unknown. However, the number of the model is 2Y.
Given the online availability of this product, it is believed that the one-piece was sold to customers in the Republic of Ireland.
Any customer who has purchased one of these products is advised to discontinue use immediately, discard the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
Customers may wish to contact the online store from where they purchased the product to see if there are any remedies available to them. This can be done via your user account on the relevant platform.
