Urgent recall issued for two food products sold in Irish supermarkets

An urgent recall has been issued for two food products sold in Irish supermarkets across Dublin.

The FSAI has advised customers against the consumption of The Little Milk Co. Organic Irish Cheddar and Dunnes Stores Green Pitted Olives.

The implicated batch of The Little Milk cheese with the batch code of K98 and the best before date of 18.05.2022 has been recalled due to the presence of histamine.

In some people, elevated levels of histamine can cause symptoms that are similar to those of an allergic reaction.

Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.

Additionally, sulphur dioxide has been detected in a batch of Dunnes Stores Green Pitted Olives (pack size 275g and use by date of 14.01.2022.

Sulphur dioxide is not declared on the list of ingredients. This may make the affected batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of sulphur dioxide or sulphites.
