Urgent recall for hoodie sold in Ireland over strangulation fears

An item of clothing sold in Ireland has been urgently recalled over safety fears.

Customers are being asked to return the North Face Teen's Oversized Hoodie due to the drawstrings that could lead to strangulation. The product code for the affected items is 7X4U.

The hoodies have "drawstrings with free ends" in the hood which can become "trapped during various activities of a child leading to strangulation", according to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. The products were available for purchase form July 2022, and a total of 68 of the hoodies were sold in the Republic of Ireland.
