Urgent recall for cheese sold in Irish stores due to presence of E. coli

An urgent recall has been issued for a batch of Donnybrook Fair Tipperary Brie due to the presence of E. Coli.

FSAI is warning customers not to eat the implicated batch as consumption of E. coli could result in severe stomach cramps, diarrhoea, and vomiting.

The implicated batch consists of products with the use-by date of 17/11/2021.

A notice on the FSAI website reads: "The above batch of Donnybrook Fair Tipperary Brie is being recalled due to the presence of E. coli. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.

"E. coli at the levels detected indicates a possible hygiene issue and the potential for the presence of harmful bacteria."
