An urgent recall alert has been issued for a popular pesto product after pieces of glass were found in a batch of La Bio Idea's Pesto Siciliano.

A statement from the Food Safety Authority said that La Bio Idea was recalling the above batch of its Sicilian organic pesto due to the possible presence of pieces of glass.
Point-of-sale recall notices are displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch.
The product is a traditional Italian sauce and is a tasty complement to many meals.
La Bio Idea pesto Siciliano is made from organic basil, organic almonds and organic garlic in a 130g jar.
It is said to be popular among vegans due to its ingredients.
