Urgent product recall issued for popular CBD supplement brands sold as deemed 'unsafe'

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued an urgent product recall of a number of CBD supplements currently stocked in Irish stores.

This recall has been issued because of unsafe levels of delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The batches implicated in the recall contain unsafe levels of THC based on the European Food Safety Authorities "acute reference dose."

The three brands affected by the recall are Jacob Hooy, Greenway and The Hemp Company.

The batches infected are as follows:

Jacob Hooy - 2.75% cbd+ with a batch number 060977-0302, and a best before date of Feb 2022, in a 10ml pack size.

Greenway - CBD Hemp oil with a batch number CB60001 and a best before date of 12/12/2022, in a 10ml size pack.

The Hemp Company - CBD Original Oil with a batch number 10-10-139 and a best before date of 04/2021, in a 10ml pack.

Inspectors are required to seize these products and remove them from store shelves if the products are still being sold.

A point-of-sale notice will be displayed in-store and on websites if sold online.

Consumers should not purchase any of the infected batches included in the recall.
