Urgent product recall issued by FSA for Walkers Doritos crisps

Unfortunately not all products which make it to the supermarket shelves are safe to eat, prompting product recalls to be issued.

Already this week the Food Standards Agency has issued recalls for a range of products sold in Sainsbury's, including pesto and gyoza, and more for .

Now crisp giant Walkers has been forced to issue a recall, due to allergy fears.

The FSA website says: "Walkers Snack Foods is recalling Doritos Tangy Cheese as a precautionary measure because it contains soya which is not accurately declared on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya."

Allergen(s):  Soya

This product contains soya making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.

Walkers has issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers explaining why the crisps have been recalled. It says: "Although this product includes precautionary allergen labelling for soya, it is undeclared in the ingredients list and may pose a risk to people with an allergy to soya.

"This product is safe for those without an allergy to soya, but it may not taste as it should."

People can return the crisps to the store they bought them from for a full refund.
