Urgent police search for camper who vanished during overnight trip with friends

Friends and family fear for the safety of a camper who went missing during an outdoor trip.

Reece Rodger was staying near Loch Rannock in Perthshire, Scotland, with friends when he vanished at the weekend.

His travel companions say the 28-year-old from Fife was last seen on Saturday night at around 11.30pm, when they say he headed to bed.

Waking this morning however, Reece's friends claim he was nowhere to be found.

Police in Scotland have now launched an urgent search to find Reece.

Sergeant Lindsay Brown of Blairgowrie Police Station told the Daily Record: "Reece was camping with his friends on the shore of Loch Rannoch. He was last seen around 11.30pm on Saturday evening and they believed he was heading to bed.

"However there was no trace of him on Sunday morning and he was reported missing.

"We are extremely concerned for his safety as he is not dressed for the cold weather and he is not familiar with the area. Searches are enquiries are ongoing to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well."

Sgt Brown added: "I would urge anyone who has seen Reece, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact police.

"I would also ask anyone living in the local area to please check their outbuildings or sheds in case he has taken shelter there."

Reece is described as 6ft in height and of slim build with dark-coloured hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging trousers.
