Urgent police appeal over pensioner missing from hospital who 'requires further treatment and needs to return immediately'

Police have issued an urgent appeal for the public's help to find a man who has gone missing from a hospital.

Peter Trace 'requires further treatment and needs to return immediately', GMP said.

Mr Trace is 74.

He was last seen inside Salford Royal Hospital at 2.45pm today - Friday.

Police said he has a shaven head and a large scar with staples in it.

Officers are said to be growing 'increasingly concerned' for Mr Trace's welfare.

The public are now being urged to come forward with any sightings.

Police have released two separate photographs of him as they issued an appeal.

Mr Trace was said to be carrying a black rucksack.

In a statement, GMP said: "Peter Trace, 74, was last seen in the hospital at 2.45pm on November 29.

Police are growing concerned for his welfare (GMP)

"Peter is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of a large build with a shaved head and large scar with staples in. 

"He was last seen wearing dark clothes and a black rucksack.

"Peter requires further treatment at hospital and needs to return immediately.

"Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for Peter and want to make sure he is safe and well."
