Urgent police appeal over girl, 12, missing in Manchester

UPDATE 8pm 5/8/20: Police have confirmed that Karen has been found safe and well.

Police have issued an urgent public appeal over a missing girl.

Karen Ogogo is 12.

Greater Manchester Police said she was last seen at around 8am this morning - Wednesday.

That was on Blueberry Avenue in Moston, north Manchester.

GMP have now issued a public appeal.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being asked to come forward.

She is said to use public transport to travel.

Officers say they are 'becoming increasingly concerned' for her welfare and safety.

Appeals have been issued over the force's social media channels.

In a statement, GMP said: "Karen Ogogo, 12, was last seen at around 8am this morning, Wednesday 5 August, on Blueberry Avenue, Moston.

Anyone with information should call police (GMP)

"Karen is believed to be using the local transport network to travel.

"Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for Karen and want to make sure she is safe and well."

Her image has also been released.

No further details have been released.
