Urgent police appeal over 73-year-old woman with dementia missing from care home

Police have issued an urgent public appeal to help find a woman with dementia who has gone missing from a care home.

Joyce Whittaker was said by police to be 'very vulnerable'.

She's 73.

Police said Mrs Whittaker went missing from The Hamiltons residential home in Atherton, Wigan.

No time for when she was last seen on Wednesday was released.

Police in Leigh, Wigan, have issued appeals over social media channels.

A photograph of her is also circulating.

In a Twitter post, GMP Leigh said she has brown bobbed hair which is parted to one side.

The clothes she is wearing was also detailed.

GMP said: "Joyce Whittaker 73 years is currently missing from The Hamilton's residential Home Atherton.

"Joyce suffers from Dementia, and is very vulnerable.

"Joyce is white 5'2 size 14 - average build medium brown bobbed hair parted to one side.

"She's wearing purple glasses, black top with green details/netting, (the same top as in the photo), black skinny jeans, and black wedge heel shoes with open toe.

"Any information please contact with any information urgently if you think you've seen Joyce on 999/101 Thank you."

No further details have been revealed.
