Urgent police appeal as 'seriously ill' man leaves Southmead Hospital

UPDATE: Police have confirmed Mr Maniford has been found.

Officers have issued an urgent appeal to trace a seriously ill man who walked out of Southmead Hospital this afternoon (Tuesday, October 1).

David Maniford is suffering from pneumonia, is likely to be coughing continually and requires vital medical treatment, police say.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said David vanished after leaving the hospital.

She said: "Have you seen David Maniford, who's not been seen since leaving Southmead Hospital this afternoon?

"He is seriously ill with pneumonia and is coughing continually and needs urgent treatment.

"If you see David call us quoting reference 5219227328.

"He's 5ft 6ins with grey hair."
