Urgent plea to find missing pensioner last seen in city park

Joseph Cullen has been found safe and well, police have confirmed

Police are appealing for help as they search for a pensioner who went missing this afternoon.

Officers say they are "increasingly concerned" about Joseph Cullen.

The 80-year-old was last seen in Countess Park in Croxteth at 12.15pm today.

A public appeal for help tracing him was released just over two hours later, such was the concern for his whereabouts.

He is described as a white male, around 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and with white hair.

When last seen, Joseph was wearing a navy pullover sweater, dark trousers and a navy cap.

He is known to frequent Liverpool city centre and often uses the number 18 bus.

Anyone who may have seen Joseph is asked to contact Merseyside Police by calling 101 or through Twitter, at @MerPolCC

  • Police issued an update at around 3pm today to say Joseph Cullen was found safe and well
