Urgent Netflix warning after new email scam tries to steal your bank account details

Netflix users are being sent fake emails detailing issues with their accounts.

Multiple people across Australia and the UK have received these messages which suggests their subscription to the streaming company has been cancelled.

These emails have been detected by web and email security service MailGuard.

The email says: "Your Netflix subscription has been cancelled."

It then follows up with a greeting followed by the person's name.

It then follows on saying: "Unfortunately, we have never been able to solve the payment problem and pay your subscription.

"We would obviously be very happy to be here.

"All you have to do is reactivate you subscription.

"We are at your disposal to answer all your questions.

"For more information, consult the Help Centre or contact us.

"The Netflix team."

There is a reactivate box that takes you to a sign-in page. Once you've signed in, you're taken to what appears to be a Netflix account page with a notification at the top, stating your account has been suspended.

Users are taken to a form which demands you enter your credit card information.

MailGuard has advised recipients of this email to delete immediately without click on on any links.

A spokesperson for the company said: "While this email incorporates the branding and logo of the company, it contains several red flags for anyone who is vigilant enough to spot fake email scams.

"Firstly, there are several grammatical errors within the body, such as “we have never been able to solve the payment problem”.

"There is also a footer containing instructions in French at the end of the email.

"All these uncommon traits are expectedly not likely to be present if the email was, in fact, being sent from a well-established organisation such as Netflix"
